Course Overview

Doing business across borders requires more than market knowledge; it demands a clear understanding of the legal frameworks that govern corporate operations, investments, and regulatory compliance. This executive programme at LUMS provides participants with in-depth insights into Chinese business law, covering key areas such as corporate governance, contracts, trade regulations, and investment law. The course also contextualizes Chinese investments within the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Through applied learning, practical exercises, and real-world case studies, participants will develop the skills and tools to navigate legal challenges in China with confidence.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of China`s legal and regulatory framework governing businesses and investors.
Navigate compliance requirements, contracts, and corporate governance within the Chinese legal context.
Identify and manage legal risks related to taxation, dispute resolution, and competition law.
Engage effectively with Chinese legal institutions and regulators.
Apply insights from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and relevant bilateral treaties to cross-border business operations.
Align Chinese outbound investment laws with domestic commercial regulations to ensure informed and compliant business decision-making.

Application Process:

Participants must register online through the PHCCLS website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have the following:
1- A passport-sized photograph for the PHCCLS smartcard. It should be against a white background.
2- Correct CNIC details.
* Note: Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrollment at any stage, and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.
Once you have completed your online registration, you may proceed to the payment section. You have two options:
1- Pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system https://pay.lums.edu.pk
2- Download the fee voucher and deposit cash in any branch of the designated banks specified on the fee voucher.
Once the payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours.

In that case, the fee may be transferred to the rescheduled offering of that programme as an alternate to refund.
