Asian Coalition of Co-Riparians
Our Mission
To
promote constructive, law-based, and technically informed approaches to transboundary
water management; strengthen institutional and diplomatic capacities in
riparian governance; and provide high-quality legal and policy research,
training, and advisory support to governments, multilateral organisations, and
civil society.
Our Vision
A
credible, independent, and regionally representative coalition committed to advancing
cooperative, lawful, and sustainable governance of Asia's shared river basins
through rigorous research, informed dialogue, and institutional capacity
building.
Our Story
The
Asian Coalition of Co-Riparians (ACoC) was conceived in response to the growing
need for collaborative, law-based, and evidence-driven approaches to
transboundary water governance in Asia. Building on the region's complex hydropolitical
landscape and recent developments affecting shared river systems, ACoC seeks to
advance research, dialogue, and institutional cooperation among co-riparian
states. Anchored in South and Central Asia, the Coalition functions as a
non-partisan platform for knowledge generation, policy innovation, and capacity
building in riparian law and governance.
